3. Notre Dame has a big day in South Bend

This could very well be Brian Kelly’s best Notre Dame team yet. The offense is matured and Ian Book is looking better and better. The Irish’s toughest task thus far was Georgia, the No. 3 team in the country, and guess what, they gave the Bulldogs a run for their money.

Now, I know that no one likes the Irish. Everyone – cough, cough, Paul Finebaum – seems to think they are a weak link because of their lack of conference play, but don’t sleep on them. Their season isn’t over.

There are three teams on Notre Dame’s schedule that can keep their playoff chances alive. Victories over USC, Michigan, and Navy could possibly land the Irish in the No. 4 spot come playoff time. But in order for that to happen a few things have to unfold across the country. Of course, Georgia needs to lose a regular season game, as well as LSU, but most importantly, the Irish has to beat the breaks off of USC and Michigan.

I expect the latter to happen. On the 12th, Notre Dame will have a big day in South Bend.
