2. South Carolina vs. Tennessee

This game has no implication on the College Football Playoff and honestly none on the SEC East as neither team is in the running to win it. However, this is still between two SEC schools with big fanbases that will always attract attention.

Tennessee has been such a roller coaster story to keep up with that you can’t help but watch their games to see what will happen next.

The Volunteers are sitting at 2-5, but could very easily be 4-3 right now, but have bad losses to Georgia State and BYU. However, they have played much better over the past few games. They had a good win against Mississippi State two games ago and played Alabama hard in Week 8. They fight the entire game and have shown improvement.

However there are still head-scratching play game after game with the most recent coming on Jarrett Guarantano’s fumble on his attempt to leap over the line on a quarterback sneak on the goal line. Guarantano will most likely get the start this week as it does not look like Brian Maurer will be able to play.

South Carolina has one of the most difficult schedules in college football this year as it sits at 3-4. However, there was been some disappointment as well as some high moments in the Gamecocks’ season so far. After losing the opener to North Carolina, a game they had in hand until the fourth quarter, they have done what most people have expected (besides the upset against Georgia).

So while the 3-4 record isn’t very surprising, the Gamecocks’ upset win against Georgia was huge for the program and will hopefully be something to build on.

The Gamecocks are four-point favorites and will be looking to get back to .500.
