1. Aidan O’Connell is better than expected

Aidan O’Connell is the starting quarterback for the Purdue Boilermakers unless the injury bug finds him, too. He’s been better than anyone could have expected. When he went into the Nebraska game, he didn’t seem overwhelmed by the moment.

Playing the Wildcats on Saturday, he struggled early, but found his composure and played well down the stretch. Not only that, how about another game-winning scoring drive.

No one knows what is going to happen the rest of the season for the Boilermakers. Midnight might finally strike for the Boilermakers next weekend against the Wisconsin Badgers, but you know they are going to play that game with as much confidence and swagger as they’ve played with all season.

The swagger they play with next week comes from a walk-on who played his hometown team today, and won. Good on you, Aidan.
