We’ve found out the Virginia Cavaliers are Bryce Perkins or bust offensively. Their comeback win against Georgia Tech was proof of that. No offense to the Jackets, but when you are at the top of the conference you should beat the team at the bottom of the conference by at least two touchdowns. That game being close says as much about Virginia’s small margin for error as it does Georgia Tech’s improvement on the field.

The Cavaliers travel to Lynchburg to take on Liberty, and then it’s their interstate matchup against Virginia Tech. That one should be interesting.

After a 5-0 start, the Deacons are 2-2 in their last four games. What that means exactly? Well, we’re trying hard at headquarters to figure that out. Even if the Demon Deacons were heading to Death Valley East undefeated, or even with one loss no one thought they had a chance to beat Clemson especially on the road.

The Deacons playing the Tigers has little to do with Wake Forest. People just want to see what Clemson looks like against a team with a good record. Well not only has some of the luster worn off this game with the Deacons losing to the Hokies last weekend and leading receiver Sage Surratt done for the season. Things just got a whole lot worse for the Deacons.

In the most recent College Football Playoff rankings, the Clemson Tigers were ranked No. 3. It doesn’t mean a whole lot, but most of us are waiting for Clemson to play some real football. No offense to the rest of the ACC, but here at the headquarters know the Tigers are four to five touchdowns better than every team in their conference. Clemson simply plays a different class of football than everyone else.

They have three more scrimmages left this season: Wake Forest, South Carolina and the ACC Championship Game. Then we get to see them play some real football. I wonder if they take the ROY bus to their destinations?
