4. No. 20 Iowa 23, No. 8 Minnesota 19

OK, so the Hawkeyes were technically a pregame seven-point favorite, according to the oddsmakers. But a lot about this game made it feel like a true upset: an undefeated Top 10 team taking the road, with CFP ramifications on the line, and coming off a win against No. 4 Penn State.

The Gophers did cover that spread, but fell to Iowa, 23-19. Tyler Goodson led an Iowa rushing attack (with 94 yards) that managed to keep Minnesota on its heels enough to preserve the win. Iowa moved to 7-3 while handing Minnesota its first loss of the season.

3. Marshall 31, Louisiana Tech 10

Louisiana Tech lost only its second game of the season to Marshall on Friday night, and it turned out to not even be close. Though the Bulldogs were receiving votes in the AP Top 25, they were handed their first conference loss of the season after taking an early 7-0 lead.

Brenden Knox led the Thundering Herd with 113 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.
