Studs

Kyle Trask

When Feleipe Franks went down with an injury, many thought Florida was done in the SEC East. Heck, some thought they couldn’t win that one game. Many were surprised when Emory Jones was not the man to fill in Feliepe’s shoes. However, Kyle Trask stepped up to the challenge, and it worked out great for the Gators. His rushing ability is not the same as what Franks has, but he got the job done.

Defensive line

Jonathan Greenard was one of many difference-makers on the d-line for Florida. With struggles in the secondary, it was vital for someone for the Gators’ D to step up. It ended up being the entire defensive line. Despite numerous injuries, they had strong performance after strong performance.

Dan Mullen

I think it is now safe to say that Florida made the right hire with Dan Mullen. Known as the quarterback whisperer, he can take credit for why the transition between Franks and Trask went so well. No matter what Florida’s future plans are at quarterback, they will be in great hands.

Playing a tough schedule

Florida’s schedule put them in a tough spot this season. Their odds of making it to an SEC Championship were low with having to play LSU, Auburn, and Georgia. Despite this, they have played incredibly well. It wasn’t enough to win the SEC, but it put them in a great position for next year.
