2. Breece Hall has a bright future in Ames

It’s impressive how far Breece Hall has come since the beginning of the season. He was the second or third-string back to start the year and he’s since become the workhorse as the only running back with more than one carry against the Fighting Irish on Saturday. He had just 55 yards on 17 touches, but he caught four passes for 45 yards as well.

On a day when he was held completely in check in the run game and the offense struggled to move the ball against a hungry Notre Dame team, Hall still managed to account for 100 all-purpose yards.

Hall finished the game with less than 3.0 yards per carry but that’s not what I took from this one. I know he’s talented enough to be a first or second-team All-Big 12 running back next season and Saturday’s contest proved that. Not many backs can struggle to find running room all afternoon and still manage 100 total yards.

This kid just has that it factor. Watch out for him in the Big 12 next season.
