10-3 in 2019. UCF Knights. player. 886. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. won Gasparilla Bowl 48-25 vs. Marshall. 25

For the first time in three years, UCF did not run the table in the regular season nor did they play a Power Five opponent in a New Year’s Six bowl. Against the achievements of 2017 and 2018, it could be seen as a disappointing turn of events for the Knights. At the same time, most schools would love to boast a third straight 10-win season.

Josh Heupel’s team downed Marshall in a dominant display at Gasparilla Bowl. The Knights returned two turnovers for touchdowns and took away the ball five times total from the Thundering Herd. Dillon Gabriel looked strong in the final game of his freshman season, throwing for 260 yards and two scores on 14-of-24 passing. No single running back produced more than 100 yards on the ground, but combined the backfield gashed Marshall for 310 yards.

Gabriel Davis is headed to the NFL early, but there is a deep pool of talent returning to Orlando in 2020. That could potentially include McKenzie Milton, the transcendent quarterback who led the  Knights to an undefeated season in 2017 and was on pace to repeat the feat in 2018 before a gruesome leg injury against South Florida in the regular-season finale. No matter who quarterbacks this team, expect voters to be high on UCF heading into the new season.
