Usually when a player is committed and is planning to announce a decision on National Signing Day, he really isn’t that solid to a school. Jayson Jones fits that exact criteria.

Jones has been committed to Alabama since July of 2018 and he’s labeled as a “soft commit” because of the direction his recruitment is heading. He looks like an Oregon lean after taking an official visit a week ago and many experts believe the Ducks are the team to beat for the Calera, Ala., native which would be quite the steal.

Oregon has done a fantastic job recruiting this kid because not many Alabama-natives would consider a flip from Alabama to the Ducks and the Pacific Northwest, but that just goes to show how well Mario Cristobal has done in Eugene.

The four-star defensive tackle is ranked the No. 318 overall prospect and 32nd-best player at his position in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports.

His 6-foot-6.5, 340-pound frame would be more than welcomed on the interior of Oregon’s defensive line.
