Meet Chase Brice

Chase Brice was a solid prospect when he came out of Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga.

Rated a three-star pro-style quarterback by 247Sports and a four-star by Rivals, Chase received 17 offers coming out of high school. His most notable offers — other than Clemson — were from West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Cal.

He would most likely have started for most of the programs that offered him in 2017. Tony Elliot and the Clemson staff are quite the salesmen, however. He spurned what might have been an opportunity to start at lower-tier programs to be a part of arguably the best college football program in the country in the last five years.

Ironically enough, Brice was part of the same recruiting class that featured five-star quarterback Hunter Johnson. Not only was he going to have to compete with Johnson, but he was also sitting behind Kelly Bryant who was the starter in 2017.

Brice came to Clemson from one of the better football programs in the state of Georgia, winning a state championship in 2016. Grayson has become quite the collegiate pipeline the past five years including sending 20 players to colleges all over the country the year Chase came out of high school. He has the pedigree and moxie to be a starting quarterback at the Power Five level.
