The tight end position will be a little tricky for Ole Miss in 2020 with Octavious Cooley and Jason Pellerin both graduating, leaving the position completely up for grabs.

Sure, incoming transfers Kenny Yeboah from Temple and Chase Rogers from Louisiana could compete for snaps, but incoming freshman DaMarcus Thomas is a name to watch.

Yeboah is coming off his best season with the Owls where he caught 19 passes for 233 yards and five touchdowns and Rogers had under 100 yards in two seasons with the Ragin Cajuns. Expect Yeboah to have a bigger impact right away as Lane Kiffin loves him and he could pair nicely with Thomas from Saraland, Ala.

Thomas signed early and had been committed since June so he’s not technically a Kiffin recruit, but the two developed a strong enough relationship that he signed early.

The three-star could also play wide receiver, but the bigger need is at tight end and his 6-2, 230-pound frame could add 10, or so, pounds and be a perfect fit there with some extra athleticism.

Thomas was listed as the No. 43 tight end in the 2020 class.
