Oklahoma is losing some talent from the defensive line in Neville Gallimore, Marquise Overton and Dillion Faamatau. All three of those guys have something in common: they all play on the interior of the defensive line and that’s exactly why Lincoln Riley recruited Perrion Winfrey from Iowa Western C.C.

The JUCO transfer was highly-recruited out of Iowa Western and happens to be the No. 1 player at that level in the country, according to 247Sports. Just about every major program wanted a piece of him as he received offers from the likes of Alabama, Baylor, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia, among others.

The Sooners got lucky and landed the Illinois-native who was a low three-star out of high school. He should have an immediate impact at a position of need.

To top it all off, he stands 6-foot-4 and weighs in at 300 pounds so size isn’t an issue for the incoming junior. He should be able to overpower opposing linemen this fall and it all starts as an early enrollee as he’ll climb up the depth chart all spring.
