Florida Football: Top 3 early recruiting targets in 2021 class
Sticking with the theme of defense, Leonard Taylor has to be the No. 1 target for the Gators in 2021 as he’s the Miami Palmetto teammate of Jason Marshall.
Landing a duo of Marshall and Taylor might help the Gators snag the No. 1 class in 2021 and it could soon provide this program with the top defense in the SEC for years to come. Add in Terrence Lewis and you have an incredibly scary defensive unit for the rest of the conference to face.
Taylor is ranked the No. 31 prospect in the class as well as the fifth-best defensive tackle and fourth-best player from Florida, according to the composite. Even more impressive, 247Sports is incredibly high on the Miami-native, ranking him the No. 4 player in the entire 2021 class as well as Florida’s top prospect and the nation’s second-best defensive tackle.
The Gators look like the leaders for his services but you can’t sleep on hometown Miami, Georgia or Tennessee.
Florida is rebuilding its entire defensive line in 2020 and Kyree Campbell will be leaving after next season along with Marlon Dunlap Jr. There will be plenty of room for this kid on the depth chart.
