Baylor Football: Way-too-early 2020 game-by-game predictions
Jalen Hurts is gone and that has to make Baylor fans breathe a sigh of relief but in comes former five-star redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler. While he’s unproven, he’s every bit as talented as any quarterback Lincoln Riley has had and he’ll be a month into his career by the time these two teams meet up.
Kennedy Brooks will give Rattler the help he needs in the backfield and the offense will be just as good as usual, giving Baylor’s defense a tough test. Don’t expect the Bears to avenge last season’s two losses to Oklahoma.
Final Score: Baylor 21, Oklahoma 35 (4-1, 1-1)
Matt Wells inherited a team with plenty of question marks in Lubbock last season and after starting the year 2-0, the Red Raiders went on to lost eight of their next 10 games to finish the campaign with a 4-8 record. Missing out on a bowl was expected, but this team didn’t look all that competitive on a consistent basis.
Will that change in 2020? More than likely, but this will be one of those “reality check” games. The upset potential is palpable, but Baylor will come to play on the road.
Final Score: Baylor 31, Texas Tech 21 (5-1, 2-1)
