Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Iowa. Tristan Wirfs. player. OT. 4. 31

The New York Giants and their fanbase can no longer blame a declining Eli Manning for their problems. They can finally get to the same main problems of their team that have been slowing them down for years.

The offensive line has been inconsistent and unreliable for numerous seasons. They have mishandled offensive linemen in the past number of years. They released tackle Ereck Flowers and he has become a more successful guard elsewhere

Last season, the Giants gave up 43 sacks, tied for 13th most in the league. Tristian Wirfs has increased his NFL draft stock steadily thanks to the NFL Scouting Combine. He is also the most complete pass protection tackle in this 2020 NFL Draft. He can fit into an offensive system that relies on a consistent pattern of running and passing the ball.

If need be, Wirfs can play guard for the Giants as Andrus Peat did for the New Orleans Saints.
