Florida Football: Top 3 early in-state targets in 2021 recruiting class
Florida currently has two four-star receivers, both ranked in the top 250, committed to its 2021 class, but it wouldn’t hurt to nab a third, especially if he’s five-star wide out Jacorey Brooks from Miami.
There’s talk that he may be wanting to stay in the city and play to the Hurricanes, but Florida, Alabama and Auburn have been recruiting him hard. The last place he visited before the quarantine hit college football recruiting was Florida for Junior Day and that could have left a lasting impact on him.
Obviously we’re in a dead period for in-person recruiting and that could mean the Gators have a leg up because they were the last school to host him.
Brooks is an athletic 6-3, 185-pound wide out who is ranked the No. 25 prospect in the nation and second-best receiver, per the composite. He’s also been compared to the Denver Broncos’ Courtland Sutton by 247Sports‘ Andrew Ivins. He may not be the quickest guy on the field, but he has good balance and strong hands.
