Looking for their second two-game winning streak of the season, Tennessee returns home to face Kentucky which is another program on the rise in the SEC.

The quarterback situation for the Wildcats should be much better than it was in 2019 when just about everyone missed time with an injury, leaving Lynn Bowden as the lone player with quarterback experience who was healthy. He’s gone, but the Wildcats should have a true passer under center — whether that’s Joey Gatewood or Terry Wilson remains to be seen.

Tennessee and Kentucky will go down to the wire here, but I’m giving a slight edge to the Volunteers.

Final Score: Kentucky 24, Tennessee 28 (6-3, 4-2)

There’s no doubt about it, a win here would be massive for Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee when it comes to the overall outlook of the program, but don’t expect that to happen.

You don’t often see unranked teams do what South Carolina did last season, coming into Athens and stealing a win. Tennessee will come in as a team just on the outside of the Top 25, looking in, but the Volunteers will turn the ball over too much here against Georgia’s stifling defense.

Oh, and Jamie Newman will be better than advertised in the SEC.

Final Score: Tennessee 14, Georgia 31 (6-4, 4-3)
