NFL Draft 2020: Ranking the 5 biggest steals
By Dante Pryor
The Denver Broncos got away with highway robbery in this draft. John Elway and the Broncos’ front office are all in on Drew Lock and they went and got him weapons. They decided to get precision and speed.
In addition to KJ Hamler, who almost made this list, they got Missouri tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. Drew Lock must have grinned as big as a Cheshire cat watching this draft.
What made Jerry Jeudy a steal is not so much where he got drafted, it was when he got drafted and the fact he landed in Denver. He was not the first Alabama receiver off the board in this draft as that distinction belonged to Henry Ruggs III.
The Raiders went with speed over precision. Jeudy is the most polished route runner in this draft. He sets up defenders better than any receiver in this draft. He’s probably the most polished route runner since Larry Fitzgerald coming out of Pitt.
The Broncos have an idea of what they want to do in the passing game. Courtland Sutton was as advertised last season. They wanted to add a clear #2, that’s Jeudy. You add speed with Penn State’s diminutive dynamo Hamler and Okwuegbunam can patrol the seam either in-line or flexed.
We will know if Lock is the real deal with this arsenal next season.
