4. (4) Ohio State 19, Wisconsin 14

This was the year of the Ohio State escape.

The Buckeyes were surviving and advancing all the way up to the national championship game and this contest against the Wisconsin Badgers was no different.

This was a very close game and the Badgers and quarterback Jim Sorgi had the lead going into the fourth quarter. Buckeyes quarterback Craig Krenzel connected with tight end Ben Hartsock for a three-yard touchdown that put the Buckeyes ahead for good and once again, Jim Tressel and the Buckeyes lived to fight another day.

I chose this game as important because if the Buckeyes were to have fallen, I think there is a very good chance that the Buckeyes do not make the national championship.

The BCS was not very kind to the Buckeyes leading up to the title game because of how they were not winning convincingly and I think just one loss could have put Georgia or Iowa in the championship game.
