The Big Ten has developed some elite tight end prospects over the years and the latest could be none other than Wisconsin junior Jake Ferguson.

Ferguson’s first two years with the Badgers have been nothing short of productive and impressive as he’s been named an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection and he has a total of 69 catches for 863 yards and six touchdowns. He’s been the perfect replacement for Troy Fumagalli who left after the 2017 season and was drafted by the Broncos.

In 2018, Ferguson had a huge freshman season and earned the respect of just about everyone as he caught 36 passes for 456 yards and four touchdowns. He took a slight step back in 2019 with 33 receptions for 407 yards and two scores, but he’s gearing up for a huge 2020.

The junior tight end has the size at 6-foot-5 and 150 pounds to be a threat in both the run and pass games and he’s athletic enough to stretch the field. His hands are as good as any on the team.

Ferguson should consider leaving after his junior year, especially if he can hover around the 500 receiving yards mark again and improve his touchdown numbers. He’ll be a solid mid-round prospect.
