It seems like every year Wisconsin produces elite offensive line talent. In fact, the Badgers have had at least one offensive lineman selected in three out of the past four NFL drafts and Cole Van Lanen should make that four out of five when the 2021 process rolls around.

Van Lanen is one of the best offensive tackles in the Big Ten and this was proven by the fact he was named to the All-Big Ten second team in 2019. Only Jon Runyan and Tristan Wirfs were listed as first-team tackles ahead of Van Lanen and since they’re both now in the NFL, it’s likely the Wisconsin senior could make that first team in 2020.

Wisconsin is sending more offensive line talent to the NFL and Van Lanen will be following Tyler Biadasz’s footsteps though he should be selected higher than round four.

Van Lanen has had quite the rise after just one full season as the starter. Before the 2019 campaign, he had started just one time in 27 games. It’s obvious he’s one of the quickest rising offensive line stars in the Big Ten and that will continue in 2020.
