As you could probably tell, Washington has plenty of defensive NFL prospects for 2020 after losing a host of offensive stars following the 2019 season.

With Jacob Eason, Trey Adams, Salvon Ahmed, Hunter Bryant and Aaron Fuller all departing this offseason, it’s clear that the offensive side of the ball will be in rebuild mode. That means that the defense will be carrying the torch and Elijah Molden tops all NFL prospects on the team.

Molden led the Huskies in tackles in 2019 with 79 and he also had 5.5 tackles for loss and team-highs in interceptions (4) and pass deflections (12). He was one of the best defenders in the Pac-12 last season as an all-conference first-team selection. Pro Football Focus was even higher on Molden than most, listing him as a second-team All-American.

Going from a role player as a sophomore in 2018 to a star as a junior in 2019 was quite the breakout and it seems as if Molden will be expected to be the best defensive back in the Pac-12 for 2020.

If that’s the case, expect this kid to be a day two selection and potentially flirt with the first round as a 5-10, 191-pound cornerback prospect.
