A rising Utah football linebacker

Devin Lloyd had his breakout season in 2019, leading the Utes’ defense in tackles with 91 and he was also second in tackles for loss (11) and second in sacks (6.5).

This was impressive considering he was just a sophomore and Utah had one of the best defenses in all of college football, allowing just 269 total yards of offense per game and 15 points on average which was the sixth-best scoring defense in the nation.

Lloyd earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention accolades and he’ll likely be on that first or second-team entering the 2020 season as the best defender on a defense that lost plenty of stars.

Look for the 6-foot-3, 235-pounder to have a huge season and top 100 total tackles, earning All-Pac-12 first-team honors and the attention of NFL scouts. If he does that, he could work his way into a day two selection as one of the best linebackers in the class.
