SEC Football: Every team’s best newcomer for 2020 season

Will Muschamp’s calling card his entire tenure at South Carolina has been defense. The Gamecocks have had one of the tougher defenses in the conference since he’s been in Columbia. The offense has left much to be desired, however.
Mike Bobo’s addition to the staff should help with the offense. Along with Bobo, Colin Hill also comes from Colorado State and almost made this list. At very least Hill improves a quarterback room that features Tyler Hilinski.
Jordan Burch does not make this list because he is the highest-rated recruit at the University of South Carolina since Jadeveon Clowney. He does not make this list because he’s a five-star rated recruit. Burch does not make this list because he’ll be next to another five-star Zacch Pickens.
Nope. Burch makes this list because if Muschamp did not close the deal it would have been an embarrassment that he might not have come back from. Not only did Burch attend high school in Columbia, but he played with Muschamp’s son.
In addition to being teammates with Muschamp’s son, his teammate and fellow defensive lineman Alex Huntley also signed with the Gamecocks. It would have been beyond embarrassing if South Carolina and Muschcamp could not close that deal. Oh, and Burch is really good, too.
