SEC: Florida Gators

Nobody will be surprised when they read that the Florida Gators are my pick as a sleeper team in the SEC. In fact, this might even be a bit of a stretch in using the word sleeper, since many people believe that the Gators have a true shot at winning the SEC next year.

They also have the easiest schedule in their conference, which could work for and against them.

With recent struggles from Alabama, there’s a huge opportunity for someone else to step onto the scene in 2020. Of course, when I say recent struggles, I mean that they lost two games and finished eighth in the AP and Coaches polls.

Florida finished the 2019 season on a high note with an Orange Bowl victory over Virginia and ended up ranked sixth in the AP Poll. I like the Gators because they played consistently last season. They didn’t get blown out and only lost in close games against top tier opponents. Florida stayed ranked somewhere between Nos. 6 and 11 for the entirety of the season.
