5. Gainesville (Fla.). South Carolina Gamecocks. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oct. 3. 850

In a game that should be known as the “Will Muschamp Bowl”, Florida hosts South Carolina for their 2020 homecoming contest and Dan Mullen is looking to move his record against South Carolina to 3-0 since he took over the Gators.

This will be a big year for former Florida and current South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp, as the 4-8 record he had last season nearly cost him his job.

South Carolina should have a solid offense, with quarterback Ryan Hilinski back under center and a more proven offensive coordinator in former Georgia assistant Mike Bobo. The defense should be solid yet again but the Gamecocks success will depend on how they replace some of their top playmakers on offense.

The Gators make it three in a row over South Carolina.

Final Score: Florida 35, South Carolina 21 (5-0, 3-0)

Gainesville (Fla.). player. 817. Oct. 10. 6. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LSU Tigers

Florida was one of the few teams that came close to beating LSU last season and it was one of the best games of the year in the country. This year, the Gators get the Tigers in the swamp and this will be a game that Florida needs to win if they hope to win the SEC East.

Florida and LSU are similar in ways in 2020. Both are losing top playmakers at key positions and how quickly they replace them will likely dictate the success that either team will have this season.

Mullen is 1-1 so far against the Tigers as head coach and both games have been excellent. While I don’t think LSU will replicate last season’s magic on offense, I still believe that they will be dangerous with a dynamic receiving duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall, and they have the best defensive back in the country in Derek Stingley.

Myles Brennan is a capable successor for Joe Burrow and I think he will be fine. These two teams are razor close and this game is a coin flip in my opinion. Give me LSU in another classic.

Final Score: Florida 24, LSU 28 (5-1, 3-1)
