Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 7. 841. Oct. 17. Oxford (Miss.). Ole Miss Rebels. player

The Gators will need to rebound quickly following the loss to LSU and that could be tricky to do against Ole Miss and new head coach Lane Kiffin. The Rebels could be a sneaky-good team in the SEC due to the offensive talent they have if they can improve one of the worst defenses in the SEC.

These two teams don’t play each other often and the last contest came in 2015, with the Gators blowing out the Rebels 38-10. Ole Miss’ last victory against Florida was the 2008 upset win over the Tim Tebow-led Gators.

Rebels quarterback John Rhys Plumlee was one of the best runners in the entire conference last season, but he will have improve a lot as a passer because Kiffin will take a more balanced approach on the offensive side of the ball rather that the run heavy approach used by Rich Rodriguez. Ole Miss will hope DJ Durkin can turn the defense around and I think that will be the big key to whether the Rebels have a surprise season.

The Gators should win comfortably as long as they aren’t looking ahead to the rivalry game vs Georgia.

Final Score: Florida 42, Ole Miss 17 (6-1, 4-1)

Oct 31. Jacksonville (FL). Georgia Bulldogs. 8. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 814

The game that will decide the SEC East and quite possibly the conference champion, Georgia and Florida will meet for the 98th time with the stakes as large as ever. This is a game that every football fan should have circled on their calendar because of the implications and the hype surrounding it.

Georgia enters with a three-game winning streak over the Gators and Dan Mullen has not fared well against a Kirby Smart defense, gaining only one win against the coach since 2008. If Florida is to get to Atlanta and challenge for a College Football Playoff berth, it’s imperative that they find a way to beat the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will be trying to change things up on offense, with former Oklahoma State and NFL offensive coordinator Todd Monken taking over the play-calling. It’s assumed that Wake Forest transfer Jamie Newman will take over on offense, but could be pushed by the latest transfer quarterback addition, former USC QB J.T Daniels.

Georgia will have to replace four starters on the offensive line, but will have plenty of talent in the backfield. The Dawgs will have one of the best defenses in the country and I think that will be the big difference in this game.

The offense should be finding their groove by this point in the season and I think the bottom line is that they are just more talented and deep than the Gators are. The Dawgs wins a close one and wins their fourth straight SEC East title.

Final Score: Florida 27, Georgia 34 (6-2, 4-2)
