This game could be very tricky for the Hurricanes.

UAB returns 19 starters from a 9-5 squad and one that ranked in the top 10 in total defense last season. UAB has made two straight conference USA championship games and will be looking to make a third. The Blazers have seen a remarkable turnaround since the football program got brought back and head coach Bill Clark will look to lead this senior laden team to big things in 2020.

This game will be big for Miami to prove that the changes made in the program are working. Most Hurricanes fans will tell you that this is the kind of team that Miami would lose to, even though they shouldn’t. UAB has a lot of experience and a fantastic head coach and the game is on a Friday night.

Miami will win because of its athletes and talent, but the Hurricanes should be very very careful.

Final Score: Miami 31, UAB 23 (3-0)

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. East Lansing (Mich.). 4. 805. Sept. 26. Michigan State Spartans. player

Miami’s first road trip of the season will be to East Lansing, a place that Miami has not been to since 1989, which was also the last time that Hurricanes played Michigan State.

The Hurricanes don’t usually win these types of road games as of late and it will be a challenge. Michigan State will look a lot different than last season and a lot of that has to do with Mark Dantonio stepping down as head coach and bringing in Mel Tucker, who spent last season as the head coach of Colorado.

The Spartans don’t bring back a lot of starters, as they have only seven returning, but they should still be very stingy on defense and losing Brian Lewerke might not be the worst thing in the world because he was held back by the offensive coaching staff under Dantonio.

Michigan State faces a brutal schedule that includes Miami, Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan and getting 6-7 wins won’t be easy. The Spartans will take down the Canes because of the home field advantage and what should be a strong Spartan defense.

Final Score: Miami 24, Michigan State 26 (3-1)
