Oct. 24. Eugene (Ore.). Stanford Cardinal. 7. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 871

In what was once the premier game in the Pac-12, this game has lost a lot of meaning over the years and is now just viewed as another game that has not had much expectations in recent seasons.

The days of Chip Kelly and Jim Harbaugh battling each other are gone and it is now on Cardinal head coach David Shaw to return Stanford to being a Pac 12 contender. Stanford suffered a very disappointing 4-8 season in 2019 and it will not be easy to get back to 8-9 wins.

There is a lot of uncertainty on the front-seven of the defense and it is unknown who will be the leading back in Stanford’s offense. They will have star left tackle Walker Little back on the line and Paulson Adebo will be back at cornerback, but there are a lot of unknowns on the rest of the roster.

Stanford will find a way to have success this season, but it won’t come against Oregon.

Final Score: Oregon 35, Stanford 17  (6-1, 4-0)

835. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oct. 31. Arizona Wildcats. 8. player. Tucson (Ariz.)

Oregon will look to finish the month of October strong and get a win against one of the weaker teams in the Pac-12.

Arizona has been known to be a thorn in Oregon’s side in the past, especially when the Ducks have big hopes for a Pac-12 title or national championship aspirations. Kevin Sumlin has been a big disappointment at Arizona since arriving two seasons ago. It was believed that Sumlin could bring the same offensive acumen and recruiting prowess to Arizona that he had at both Texas A&M and Houston, but that has been far from the case.

Dynamic quarterback Kahlil Tate is no longer in Tucson and the Wildcats will have to hope former Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads can turn around one of the worst defenses in the country.

The offense should be pretty solid with new quarterback Grant Gunnell being the unquestioned starter. If Arizona hopes to make it to a bowl game for the first time under Sumlin, the defense has to make big strides and the offense will have to perform better against top competition. Oregon has won three of the last four over the Wildcats and they should be able to make it four out of five.

Final Score: Oregon 42, Arizona 14 (7-1, 5-0)
