808. Scouting Report. player. 9. Pick Analysis. Nov. 7. Eugene (Ore.). USC Trojans

In what might be a preview of the Pac-12 title game, USC will make a road trip to Eugene to try and upend the Ducks and end their playoff hopes. Oregon embarrassed USC in Los Angeles last season 56-24 and the Trojans know that another blowout loss like that could result in head coach Clay Helton losing his job.

These two teams don’t play annually, which is a shame because these are the two premier programs in the Pac-12 and always put on a show.

USC will come into this game with an offense that can challenge the Ducks’ stingy defense. This will be a showcase of the nation’s most talented receiving corps versus the nation’s best secondary. Trojan quarterback Kedon Slovis is hoping to have a more impressive game than he did last season and the USC defense will need to play a lot better if the Trojans want to pull the upset.

USC is the only Pac-12 team that can match Oregon for talent, but Helton does not usually coach well or have his team ready to play against big-time opponents in big-time games. Oregon wins, but it won’t be easy.

Final Score: Oregon 38, USC 28 (8-1, 6-0)

Nov. 13. Eugene (Ore.). player. Pick Analysis. Arizona State Sun Devils. 10. 854. Scouting Report

Oregon will come into this game with revenge on their minds. When Arizona State beat Oregon late last season, it cost the Ducks a shot at the playoff and they will need to be careful because Arizona State is expecting to challenge for the Pac-12 South title and improve upon the 8-5 record they had last season.

Arizona State has one of the best young quarterbacks in the country in Jayden Daniels and he is coming off a season in which he threw for nearly 3,000 yards and had 17 touchdowns, with only two interceptions. If he keeps making improvements, the Sun Devils can contend in the Pac-12.

The Sun Devils have won two of the last three over the Ducks and head coach Herm Edwards has built a program with an identity of playing physical and there is no doubt the Sun Devils will be ready to play.

Oregon will know not to take the Arizona State lightly and will win a close game.

Final Score: Oregon 28, Arizona State 24 (9-1, 7-0)
