The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs travel to Waco to play the Bears in their season opener. Last season, the Bulldogs were one of the better teams in Conference USA; they won 10 games and upset the Miami Hurricanes in the Liberty Bowl.

The Bulldogs are going to give Baylor a game.

Louisiana Tech lost a lot of talent from last year’s team including quarterback J’Mar Smith but the leading rusher and receiver return. Baylor is more talented, and this should test Dave Aranda’s defensive scheme. Baylor pulls away late.

Final Score: Baylor 28, Louisiana Tech 14 (1-0)

The Kansas Jayhawks are proof that experience does not necessarily mean talent. The Jayhawks won’t be dreadful this season — they’ll find at least one win this season — but they aren’t going to challenge for the Big 12 either.

Pooka Williams Jr. is one of the better rushers in the conference, but they do not have much firepower outside of the junior back. Kansas also returns their leading receiver from last season. However, the Jayhawks have a new starting quarterback, and the defense is still awful.

Despite turnover on defense, the Bears return an experienced offense. Charlie Brewer returns to lead the offense and they have a veteran line. This game should demonstrate how well the offense has acclimated itself to Larry Fedora and pass game coordinator Jorge Munoz.

Final Score: Baylor 35, Kansas 13 (2-0, 1-0 Big 12)
