Big 12: Kansas

Let’s hit the ground running here and look at some positives. Les Miles led the Kansas Jayhawks to their highest win total in a decade in just his first season as head coach. That’s right, Kansas won three games last year. Incredible.

Kansas has had an issue with rostered players for a while now and Miles didn’t take any steps to fix that. I mean, if three wins is your ceiling, why would you try to immediately fix it and win four or five games?

This team won’t be winning anytime soon, but the long-term future actually looks positive under Miles.

Here’s the good part: Miles hasn’t coached a losing team. When he arrived at Oklahoma State in 2001, they went 4-7, but wouldn’t have another losing season for the rest of his time there. He coached at LSU for 11 years and never won less than eight games.

Out of every team that you’ll see on this list, Kansas should have more confidence than anybody else.
