1. For the first time since Tim Tebow, Florida has a reliable QB

Kyle Trask’s emergence in 2019 was a breath of fresh air for Florida fans around the nation. The Gators finally had a quarterback who could make the throws that would put Florida in a position to win week in and week out. He threw for the most yards of any Gator quarterback since 2007, tossing for 2,941 yards and 25 touchdowns while completing 67 percent of his passes, which was No. 12 in all of college football.

Trask will be leading one of college football’s biggest brands in 2020; it is safe to say he will get a lot of attention.

With the Big Ten and the Pac-12 opting out of the 2020 season, Trask is 11th in the Heisman odds according to OddShark.com and with a productive year, those odds will shorten.

Trask stood out in big games. His best performance came against the reigning national champions, the LSU Tigers. In the first road start of his entire career, Trask threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns. He was unfazed by Death Valley, completing 59 percent of his passes and leading the Gators on multiple long touchdown drives. His counterpart in that game, Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow (you may have heard of him), threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns; so Trask went toe to toe with one of the greatest college quarterbacks ever.

Even against the best defense in the country in Georgia, Trask was still consistent and was the reason Florida had a chance to win. In a tough loss, he completed 64 percent of his passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns. The slow pacing of the game made it difficult for Trask. But he played well in the fourth quarter, throwing a touchdown.

The bottom line is that Trask will only improve in 2020. With consistent play from him, Florida will have a great shot at winning the SEC East and a conference title.
