3. Georgia Tech was resilient

There were many different times where Georgia Tech could have lost confidence and stumbled to the finish. However, give major credit to the Yellow Jackets players and coaching staff for hanging in a wonky, ugly game.

It would have been easy for true freshman quarterback Jeff Sims to lose his confidence after throwing his second interception inside Florida State territory.

But, he hung in there and ended up being the best offensive player on the field for either team. Sims lead all players with 64 rushing yards on 13 carries. He also completed 67 percent of his passes and added 277 passing yards.

It would have been easy for true Freshman kicker Jude Kelley to lose his confidence after having three of first four kicks blocked.

Once again, he hung in there and ended up hitting a 32-yard field goal that gave Georgia Tech the lead.

Both freshman players displayed great poise for their first college starts in a tough road environment.

Curtis Ryans is not a freshman, but he was able to feast on a depleted Florida State offensive line. Ryans finished with two sacks, two forced fumbles and four tackles in a defensive effort that stifled the Seminoles in the second half.

Georgia Tech should definitely be proud of the effort that their young team displayed today. Most of the time it was not clean. It was not pretty. But their heart and resiliency led to a nice comeback and a road win to feel good about.
