Michigan State: Miami Hurricanes

The Michigan State Spartans and Miami Hurricanes had almost identical seasons last year, finishing 6-6 in the regular season with a strong defense and almost no offense. As a Michigan State and Chicago Bears fan, this is the kind of football I love. Join me, fellow Spartans, for another painful football season in 2020.

Iowa: Auburn Tigers

Iowa and Auburn was one of the easier picks that I made today, as both of these teams are always pretty good, but almost never a national title contender. We’ve seen both of these squads upset top-ranked teams and they’re fun to watch every single year. Iowa fans can’t go wrong rooting for their new Alabama-based team.

Minnesota: Baylor Bears

Minnesota hasn’t been a historically strong team in the Big Ten. That honor goes to Michigan and Ohio State. However, this past season, Minnesota found a way to get 11 wins in the second-toughest conference in the country. Their transition will be to Baylor football, a program that also accumulated 11 wins in 2019, but isn’t historically great.

Michigan: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

I was tempted to pick the obvious teams in Tennessee or Florida, but I thought I’d cut Michigan fans a break for once. Notre Dame is similar to them on the football field in that both of these teams are very good. Any given year, they could compete for a national title, but always seem for fall just short. Plus, the transition will be easy from one of the most hated fanbases in college football to another.
