2. North Carolina is a fraud

There was a ton of excitement and hype around this team and it seems a lot of people have hopped off the bandwagon. I’m still a believer that the Heels can contend for the ACC this year and their performance against Syracuse shouldn’t scare you.

Yes, the game was ugly, as were a lot of games this weekend. The lack of spring practices clearly hurt both teams and it felt like UNC was lacking energy until the second half. The game felt more like a spring practice early and you can’t blame the players. Football is so dependent on energy and enthusiasm and fans bring a lot of that. I’m sure it was tough for the Tar Heels to bring that energy to a game where they were clearly the more talented team and it definitely showed early.

Syracuse had plenty of opportunities to take control of the game but failed to execute. The Tar Heels locked down in the red zone and kept the Orange from scoring a touchdown, which is something to be excited about. It might’ve taken a while but once North Carolina’s offense got rolling it looked like what we were expecting coming into the season.

This is still the same team we thought could cause disruption in the ACC and a bad three quarters against Syracuse shouldn’t change your opinion on them.
