Big Ten: Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Rutgers is different than Colorado in that the Scarlet Knights should be thrilled with their current position. While the Buffaloes hired their head coach in a panicked last-minute decision, Rutgers got the perfect fit in Greg Schiano who previously coached in Piscataway and took the Scarlet Knights from an unknown team to a program that was only a year removed from joining the Big Ten.

But after his departure, this team would have a couple years of success, followed by a path into the darkness that they have not come out of to this day. That being said, Rutgers will be going through a total overhaul with a new head coach in charge. Schiano should bring a spark back to New Jersey, but we won’t see the full effect of that for a few years.

Looking ahead to 2020, there will be close to no positives on the field for the Scarlet Knights. Even putting Rutgers head to head with Colorado, you’d have to lean on the side of the Buffaloes. I do not see a game on Rutgers schedule that I can confidently say they’ll win. Don’t sleep on this team though, as they can’t possibly go down from where they’re currently at.

My prediction: 0-8
