3. No. 18 Oklahoma at Iowa State

Oklahoma’s playoff streak is now on life support thanks to their epic collapse against Kansas State and now the Sooners must get their act together and go on the road to play Iowa State, a team that has given the Sooners trouble in recent years.

Iowa State bounced back nicely last week with a win over TCU and it looked like their offense found a better rhythm than their opening week game against Louisiana. Ames is a tough place to play and the Sooners will have their hands full with Cyclones quarterback Brock Purdy and this offense.

This game has playoff implications because of the reason outlines above: Oklahoma has made the playoff in every season under head coach Lincoln Riley, but Oklahoma has their backs against the wall now due to losing last week.

With a convincing win, Oklahoma can set themselves up to get back in the Big 12 title race and playoff race and look forward to a bigger opportunity with Texas on the schedule for next week.

With a loss, the Sooners hopes for a conference title will almost certainly end.
