2. Feleipe Franks is just good enough

After a shaky first outing against Georgia, there were doubts about Feleipe Franks leading the Arkansas offense. He had just 200 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions, completing 19-of-36 passes but he did have Arkansas in the lead over the Bulldogs at halftime.

Fans were wondering what the ceiling might be with him at quarterback and it seemed extremely limited. Those concerns changed on Saturday.

Franks didn’t have a huge game, by any means, but his experience and leadership shined through as he kept a level head on the road against a ranked Mississippi State team. He passed for 212 yards and two touchdowns on a solid 20-for-28 completions. He looked like a new quarterback and had some life in that arm.

I think everyone realized that Franks isn’t going to take over many games, but he is good enough to keep Arkansas in games. He was good enough to pull off an upset against the Bulldogs on Saturday evening and that’s a huge development for Sam Pittman and Co.
