2. Navy loses big to Air Force, 40-7

About one month ago, the Navy Midshipmen took a harsh beating when they lost 55-3 at home to the BYU Cougars. They bounced back with an impressive win against the Tulane Green Wave.

Their third game of the season was a non-conference opponent against one of their biggest rivals in the Air Force Falcons. The Midshipmen found no answer to the Falcons as they lost 40-7.

The Falcons took a 16-7 lead into halftime against the Midshipmen late Saturday night. After halftime, Navy was not able to find some offensive consistency as it couldn’t find the endzone.

The Navy offense only accounted for 97 total yards in the second half, with only 25 of them coming in the third quarter. The Midshipmen only accounted for 241 total yards in the entire game. Air Force’s defense was able to force two big turnovers on a rebuilding Midshipmen offense.

Air Force’s offense was able to put up 410 total yards.

Navy has not been able to beat Air Force on the road as it has lost five of the last six meetings in the state of Colorado. Their last loss before this previous meeting was a 35-7 win for Air Force. The Midshipmen now find themselves in a one-game deficit in the hunt for the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy. Navy currently holds the trophy and will need an Army Black Knights to win over Air Force on when they host the Falcons on Nov. 7.
