1. No. 7 Miami puts a scare to No. 1 Clemson

The game of the week will be the top-10 ranked matchup between the red-hot Hurricanes and the elite Clemson Tigers team yet to be challenged. This will be the highest-ranked matchup of the 2020 season through six weeks. There have been plenty of ranked versus ranked matchups but this game will be the second matchup to feature two top-10 teams.

The Hurricanes have been a big surprise to the entire ACC as they dominated Florida State and beat a ranked Louisville team by 13 points.

On the offensive side of the ball, they average 43.3 points per game (seventh in the nation) and 499 total yards per game (12th in the nation). The Hurricanes have benefitted from a dynamic dual-threat quarterback in D’Eriq King and their explosive rusher in running back Cam’Ron Harris. Both King and Harris have combined for 1,238 yards and 11 touchdowns in just three games this season.

The Hurricanes are 14-point underdogs on the road to the Tigers this Saturday night. We have not gotten a great look at the Tigers this season in three games where the best matchup was a 41-23 win at home against the Virginia Cavaliers. The Tigers have yet to be tested this season which could create some problems against the Hurricanes.

Expect some tension on the Tigers from the Hurricanes, who are in a great position to compete for an ACC title. The Tigers will likely still win the game but it’s more likely that they will by only one possession.

This could be a future ACC title game matchup in December.
