3. Miami lacks outside playmakers

Clemson exposed Miami’s offense for their lack of playmakers last week and some of that carried over into this game.

Miami still took a lot of deep shots and could not win any of their 50-50 balls. Dee Wiggins had a dropped pass, Mark Pope was a non-factor for most of the game and Mike Harley did not make an impact other than his touchdown catch on the first drive of the second half.

Miami fans have been clamoring for more of the younger receivers to get playing time and some of the Canes younger receivers did play, but did not make their presence felt. This is something that Miami will need to fix going forward because it is really hindering the offense and its ability to make plays down the field.

While D’Eriq King had some poor decision making, his receivers are not helping him out at all right now.
