2. Arkansas is a year away from contending

OK, I’ll even admit this is one of my hottest takes yet, but Sam Pittman inherited a young Arkansas team with a veteran transfer quarterback and he’s already turned the Razorbacks into a relevant team that should be 3-1 this season if not for a controversial loss to Auburn — but we won’t get into that here.

The Razorbacks played Georgia tough for a half in the opener, even taking a 7-5 lead into halftime, and then they beat a ranked Mississippi State team and should have beaten Auburn on the road. And now they have a win over a team that just gave Alabama trouble. Incredible.

The turnaround this program has made in just a short period of time is miraculous. We have to remember that the Razorbacks had not won an SEC game since 2017 heading into this season and they already have two (should be three) conference victories.

Arkansas is playing really well and is only a year away from being a true threat in the SEC. Yes, only a year, especially if this trend continues.
