College Football 2020: Winners, losers from Week 8 AP Top 25 Poll
Loser: Tennessee (Unranked)
No, Tennessee is not back.
If that was not obvious after they lost to Georgia last week, then it should be very obvious that the Volunteers still have a ways to go as a program after getting blown out against Kentucky. Kentucky dominated this game from start to finish, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
Tennessee was supposed to be able to rely on an experienced offensive line and run the ball, but that is not happening and Tennessee still has problems at quarterback. Tennessee needs to find quick fixes because Alabama is on the schedule next.
Loser: Louisiana (Unranked)
It is very hard for a Sun Belt team to get ranked in the first place and it is even harder after a loss. Louisiana was riding high and undefeated with a win over Iowa State and some close calls against Georgia State and Georgia Southern. The Ragin’ Cajuns could not stop Coastal Carolina’s offense and the result was being upset and being unranked.
Louisiana is unlikely to return to the top 25 this season, but they can still make a run at the conference championship.
