2. Boise State (at Air Force)

Air Force’s offense was anemic at San Jose State last week, and given the 40 or so Falcons who are not available this season by their own choice due to COVID-19, they don’t seem primed to threaten many top-25 teams. So, how could they Boise State, coming off a blowout win over Utah State?

It’s simple. The triple option at altitude. Air Force running their slow, methodical triple option offense can limit possessions and play keep away from the Broncos offense. Add the altitude of the game, being played in Colorado Springs, and Boise State’s conditioning will be tested on defense. If they can’t hold up, there is the potential they get a surprise from Air Force.

Boise State can’t afford any losses in Mountain West play if they want to compete for the New Year’s Six spot with the top American Athletic Conference teams.
