College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
A week after climbing into the poll with an upset victory over Penn State, Indiana consolidated their position in the AP Top 25 with a 37-21 victory over Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights came into the game with confidence after opening the season with a win at Michigan State, but the Hoosiers left no question as to who is the better team. As a result we could see Tom Allen’s team push toward the top 15.
Michael Penix Jr. once again put on a show, torching the Rutgers defense with both his arm and his legs. Penix finished 17-of-26 for 238 yards and three scores, and he added a rushing touchdown for good measure. Stevie Scott III led the way on the ground with 81 rushing yards. The Indiana defense came through as well, forcing three Noah Vedral interceptions in the victory.
Indiana will look to keep their winning ways going in Week 10 when they welcome Michigan to Bloomington. Despite the loss by the Wolverines on Halloween, the November 7 showdown will likely still feature a matchup of Top 25 programs. From there back-to-back road games against Michigan State and Ohio State lurk in the heart of November.
