College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Texas A&M was already up by two touchdowns in the first half against Arkansas and on pace to improve to 4-1. Already locked into the top 10 of the AP Top 25 heading into Week 9, the Aggies now enter November positioned among the second tier of teams in the race for spots in the College Football Playoff. Jimbo Fisher’s crew is at the very least on pace for a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl if they can keep up the momentum.
Kellen Mond was sharp at quarterback in the first 25 minutes against the Razorbacks, throwing for two touchdowns and 177 yards on 13-of-16 passing. Ainias Smith punched in a rushing touchdown, helping extend the lead. Arkansas quarterback Feleipe Franks was able to complete 12 of his 14 passes but managed to gain only 103 yards for the effort thanks to a strong Texas A&M effort on defense.
Barring a big comeback by the Razorbacks, Texas A&M will head into November hovering comfortably in the single digits of the polls. Back-to-back road trips, to South Carolina in Week 10 and Tennessee in Week 11, await the Aggies at the start of the month. As long as both they and Alabama continue winning, the Aggies could make a case for a second SEC spot in the College Football Playoff.
