College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Cincinnati kept itself in pole position for the automatic Group of Five bid into a New Year’s Six bowl game in Week 9 as they took down Memphis 49-10 in a rematch of last year’s American Athletic Conference title game. The Bearcats remained unbeaten with the victory over the Tigers, and locked down their top-10 position in the AP Top 25 for another week.
Desmond Ridder outgunned Brady White through the air, finishing with 271 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-26 passing. Ridder added 41 yards and two scores on the ground, and Jerome Ford led the ground game with 116 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. White had his moments, but the Tigers offense was held one-dimensional as they racked up just three net rushing yards.
Luke Fickell’s team remains at home for the next two weeks, with Houston and East Carolina coming to Ohio. The big test comes later in the month, when Cincinnati travels to Orlando for a November 21 battle against UCF that will make or break the Bearcats’ season.
