College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
On a day when other teams in the AP Top 25 had trouble closing out games, Notre Dame rolled to an easy 31-13 victory at Georgia Tech. The win kept the Fighting Irish undefeated heading into November, and at 6-0 they are in prime position to remain among the top five teams in the country. They are also in control of their own destiny in the ACC race, a boon for their College Football Playoff chances.
Against the Demon Deacons the Irish dominated on both offense and defense. Kyren Williams rushed for 76 yards and two scores, C’Bo Flemister added 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and Ian Book went 18-of-26 for 199 yards and a score by air. Even more important, the defense held Georgia Tech to 238 total yards of offense to take the air out of any chance of an upset.
Notre Dame now heads into November for a huge ACC showdown against Clemson. The duel of top-five teams in South Bend in Week 10 will help determine which team is in the driver’s seat in the conference heading into the final month of the season, and a win could start getting the Irish consideration for first-place votes.
