College Football Rankings 2020: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Alabama once again exerted its will against Mississippi State. Through two and a half quarters of play, the Crimson Tide are up 27-0 on the Bulldogs in Tuscaloosa and romping toward their sixth win of the season. With Clemson nearly suffering a home upset earlier in the day, the Crimson Tide could receive enough votes to bump up ahead of the Tigers in the next release of the AP Top 25 on Sunday.
Nick Saban’s team continues to be a juggernaut in the SEC, maintaining their position among the ranks of the undefeated despite receiving each team’s best shot week after week. By halftime Mac Jones had already racked up 217 passing yards and three touchdowns, Najee Harris had rushed for 83 yards, and the Alabama defense held Mike Leach’s Mississippi State offense to only 38 yards of offense.
Potentially brandishing the No. 1 next to their name as they head into an idle weekend in Week 10, Alabama is in prime position to return to the College Football Playoff after missing the field last season. After their idle week, the Crimson Tide return for a November 14 showdown against LSU in Death Valley.
